Full Day Machu Picchu Tour by Train

Day 1: CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

To start our Machu Picchu Tour we will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning, we’ll travel by touristic private van to train station “Ollantaytambo” in the Sacred Valley where we’ll board our EXPEDITION TRAIN  and VOYAGUER to Aguas Calientes town (1:45 hours) With beautiful scenery throughout the journey the train journey itself is an experience. Following the course of the river down the Sacred Valley you’ll arrive to Aguas Calientes town.

Once you arrive to Aguas Calientes  town, our tour guide will be there to greet you and take you to the bus station to head straight up to Machu Picchu  by bus (25 minutes)  for your guided tour. The tour lasts for about 2 hours during which you’ll learn about the Incas and visit all the most important areas of Machu Picchu city.

Later in the afternoon you take the bus back down to the station at Aguas Calientes, where you will take the EXPEDITION train back to Ollantaytambo where a private van will be waiting for you to drive back to Cusco dropping you off at you your hotel.

Important Requirement: Mandatory Travel Insurance

This requirement is due to the geographical characteristics of our territory, where both terrestrial transit routes and trekking trails span a wide range of altitudes — from coastal valleys at sea level to high Andean regions ranging between 4,000 and 5,000 meters above sea level.

When you join any of our Inca Trail tours, you’re not only walking through ancient ruins — you’re entering the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (SHM), a protected natural and cultural heritage site. This sacred route is home to endangered species of flora and fauna, and it’s our collective responsibility to help preserve it.

As part of our commitment to sustainable tourism, all travelers and porters will receive a full orientation from our guide at the start of the trek. Please take a moment to review the following important conduct guidelines:

• 🚫 Do not litter: All solid waste must be carried out. Leave no trace.

• 🧱 Do not climb or sit on archaeological walls.

• ❌ Graffiti and vandalism are strictly prohibited.

• 🏕 Stay within the assigned camping zones. Do not enter restricted areas.

• 🔇 Avoid loud noises that may disturb wildlife.

• 🌿 Do not pick flowers or damage plants — many are endangered species.

• 🔥 Campfires are not allowed on the trail or at campsites.

• ♻️ Single-use plastics are banned. Use reusable bottles and containers.
